The annual Sydney Markets Fresh Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding fruit, veg and flower producers, retailers and bloggers across New South Wales and the ACT.

At the 2017 Fresh Awards night, to be held at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art in mid-July, ABC Radio presenter and former Channel 7 TV journalist Chris Bath will MC the awards presentation and iconic Aussie band Mental As Anything will give a special performance.

Tickets include entry to the Awards gala, three hours of “fabulous cocktail food”, served throughout the evening; Australian sparkling, wines and beer; and entertainment.

Awards categories

There are five major categories of Fresh Awards:

Produce (Fruit and Vegetable) Grower of the Year recognises NSW and ACT fruit and vegetable growers with stands at Sydney Markets who demonstrate “a high degree of competence across a range of criteria including product quality, consistency, presentation and customer service”.

Flower Grower of the Year recognises outstanding NSW and ACT flower growers with stands at Sydney Markets.

Greengrocer awards include the 2017 Fresh Award for Greengrocer of the Year and separate awards for Service Excellence; Retail Presentation; Knowledge in Action; Small Business Fresh; Medium Business Fresh; and Large Business Fresh.

Florist awards include the Fresh Award for Florist of the Year, and awards for Service Excellence; Retail Presentation; and Merchandising and Branding Excellence.

Blogger awards go to food bloggers with the Best Greengrocer Story and Best Florist Story.

Tickets and more information

Early-bird tickets to the 2017 Sydney Markets Fresh Awards night are on sale until 7 June 2017 and cost $132 per person – act fast! Otherwise, tickets are $150pp.

Tickets will be emailed to you after purchase; print them off and bring them with you to the event.
