Augmenting compost to feed soil biology

Dr Geoff Creswell, horticultural scientist and plant nutritional expert, explains how applying recycled-organics compost mixes augmented with small amounts of key plant nutrients (notably nitrogen) to agricultural soils, you ‘feed’ the soil’s microbiology, improving soil structure and, over time, nutrient content.

In this way, ‘next-gen’ compost mixes can effectively replace the nutrients that are missing from the soil and/or have been taken up by biological processes following the application of compost.
