Australian fruit and vegie growers keen to extend their export market reach might want to do their Christmas shopping in Dubai this year – and put in a few days’ networking at the Middle East’s leading fresh-produce trade show, World of Perishables Dubai.
Running from 5-7 December in the heartland of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), it’s billed as “the premier fresh produce tradeshow in the Middle East”, attracting perishables producers from around the world and buyers from across the region.
Last year’s WoP Dubai was the largest in its history, with 235 exhibitors from 30 countries, 14 national pavilions and 8,200 square metres of exhibition space. This year’s expo is set to be bigger and better – and for trade and business visitors, it’s free.
What can you do at WoP Dubai?
Markets in the UAE and Middle East are characterised by high disposable incomes and high reliance on imports. The World of Perishables Dubai is a terrific opportunity for Australian growers to build on the success of existing fresh-produce trade into these markets.
Drop by the AUSVEG stand and check out Australia’s fine fresh produce, then mingle on the showroom floor with fruit-and-veg-sector decision-makers from more than 80 nations – local and international suppliers, fellow growers, exporters, distributors, wholesalers and retailers.
As well as providing numerous opportunities for productive networking, the expo is a great place to:
- seek expert solutions to challenges faced by your fresh-produce business;
- initiate, develop and close deals with people all along the distribution chain; and
- tap into the latest trends in the horticultural sector and among consumers, across the region and around the world.
