The Solar Powered Pumping Initiative was funded by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH ) and aimed to promote the use of solar power pumping in agriculture across domestic, stock and high-volume irrigation applications.
The initiative involved research into specific technologies and the practical factors involved in selecting and installing solutions. It also created a range of information materials and case studies, and delivered seminars to farmers across NSW. Presently the project team is seeking to advance a second stage of the project as a national program in collaboration with National Irrigators Council.
